Obituary

Cécile Jeanne Labossière
(née Rondeau)

Peacefully at Foyer Valade in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, March 15, 2018, Mrs. Cécile Labossière formerly of St. Léon, Manitoba passed away at the age of 96 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Jocelyne Sayak, Ivan (Cheryl), Colin (Sherry), Géraldine (Robert) Mabon, Elaine (Jack) Hardman, André (Dena) and Danielle (Jim) Scheffelmaier; her grandchildren Réjan (Donna), Vincent (Tara), Dillon, Eric (Amy), Lisa (Tyler), Danièle (Jean-Philippe), Janèle (Matt), Jean (Pam), Evan (Kristine), Parker, Carson, Cody, Matthew (Danielle) and Jesse; her great-grandchildren Jacob, Finn, Henry, Kylee, Olivier, Piper, Nolan and Lexie; and one sister-in-law Analda Rondeau.

She is predeceased by her husband Gabriel, her parents Georges and Marguerite (née Kern) Rondeau, her son-in-law Allan Sayak and her daughter-in-law Gail Thiessen, and her siblings Marcel (Eva) Rondeau, Richard (Clémence) Rondeau, Lucien Rondeau, René (Rita)(Emma) Rondeau, Antonin Rondeau and Odile (Bernard) Martel.

After her schooling, Mom worked at Hôpital St. Roc as a seamstress. After her marriage, she worked tirelessly on the farm with Gabriel. She was not afraid of driving a truck between the combine and the granary. She looked after the children, cooked, cleaned, sewed, gardened, canned and froze vegetables and made jams. She baked a huge batch of bread every week. Her door was always open to everyone. She devoted her life to her family and was happiest when everyone was together. When the family moved to Windsor Park, Mom worked at St. Boniface College as part of the housekeeping staff. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling across all of Canada and the Northern US with Gabriel and other family members.

A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff of Actionmarguerite St. Vital (Foyer Valade) for their loving care during her three year stay.
