Denise Le Floch

(née Dagesse)

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Denise Françoise Le Floch, April 5, 2016 at the St. Claude Pavilion at the age of 100 years.

She is survived by her children, George (Elaine), Norbert, Lionel and Jeannine; her grandchildren, Jean-Paul (Andrea), Raymond (Lizanne) and Patrick (Angela); her great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Emilie, Félix and Alayna; as well as one sister Beatrice LaFlèche-Kirouac and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Félix on October 26, 1962; her parents Adine and Elie Dagesse; eight siblings, Léo, Marie-Rose, Marie-Anna, Marie-Aimée, Georges (Germaine), Ovide (Alice), Roméo (Yvette) and Léon.

Mom was born October 15, 1915 on a farm in Haywood to Adine and Elie Dagesse, the second youngest child of a family of 10. She married Félix Le Floch on July 8, 1944 and they settled on a mixed farm north of St. Claude. She demonstrated grit and determination her entire life, and with a strong work ethic raised four children and ran the farm when widowed in 1962. She remained on the farm until 2009 when she moved to the St. Claude Pavilion, but still remained very interested in the farm. Denise loved nature, bird watching, gardening, flowers and animals, but mostly her family was the most important to her. She will be remembered for her smile, her gentleness, her joie de vivre, word searches and knitting. She enjoyed a good laugh and was always welcoming and happy to see all who came to visit. She was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by all her family.

Funeral services will be held in the St Claude Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Memorial Service at 10:30 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Msgr. Roger Bazin officiating. Interment will take place after Mass at the St. Claude Parish Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care and compassion given to Denise by the staff of the Pavilion St. Claude. She considered them her second family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to the St. Claude Health District Foundation (Handi-Van), Box 400, St. Claude, MB R0G1Z0.

Repose en paix, chère maman.
