Alain McDonell

Peacefully with his family by his side, at the Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, Manitoba on Saturday October 14, 2017, Mr. Alain McDonell of Swan Lake, Manitoba passed away at the age of 74 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years Linda (nee Sandstrom), daughter Dana McDonell and son Danny (Angela) McDonell, his in-laws, Marilyn Heschel, Ron Sandstrom, Ruth (Wilbert) Hutton, Helen (Bill) Lynch, cousins Grant and Hugh (Connie) Allan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Al was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Yvonne, Aunts Carmen (Bill) Allan, Louise, Annie and Uncle Archie, as well as brothers in law Vic Heschel and Raymond Sandstrom.

Al was born and raised in Swan Lake. He became a mechanic by trade, eventually owning Swan Lake Garage until his retirement. He married Linda, the love of his life, and together they raised their two children Dana and Danny. He loved them dearly and was very proud of them both. He spent many years teaching them both everything he knew about nature and outdoor life. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and never missed a season. He enjoyed trap shooting, gardening, taking care of his yard, cooking and baking. Whatever he did was always to the best of his ability. We will miss him dearly.
