Donald Cameron
(Mino-niingokon - Good Cloud)

Peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side at the Lorne  Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, Manitoba on Monday, June 10, 2019. Donald “Gus” Cameron of Swan Lake First Nation was born on January 16, 1930 and passed at the age of 89 years.

He leaves to mourn his children, Warren (Melissa), Rhonda (Curtis), Brenda, Gary (Charlotte), Gaylene (Cody), Kimberly (Bill) and Kingsley; his 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends from Alberta and Manitoba.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Cameron; his son Earl Ronald Cameron and by his 10 brothers, Johnny, Hector, Tony, Sam, Richard, Tommy, Frank, Wallace, David and Clarence.

The family apologizes for any family or friends they may have missed.

A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 4 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Friday, June 14, 2019 commencing with the feast at 12 noon.

The family would like to Thank the Lorne Memorial Hospital and Rock Lake Hospital Doctors, Nurses and staff, Swan Lake Home Care and Community Care, Candace Cameron and Erland Meekis, Swan Lake Chief and Council, Amanda Gee from Community Care, the Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, and family and friends, for their kind care towards Donald over the years. 

Pallbearers are Cory Cameron, Keith Cameron, Eric Cameron, Dustin Cameron, Ivan Martin and Curtis Martin. 

Honorary Pallbearers are Sally Thomas, Melvin Hobson, Jordan Hill, Bradley Cameron, Caleb Halcro, Warren Cameron Jr, William Carpenter, Jeremy Jerry, Ronald Cameron, Cameron Own Chief, Dashaun Own Chief, Brittany Ayoungman, Kayla Own Chief and Kayzley Cameron.
