Donald Darryl Cameron-Stevenson

Peacefully at the Swan Lake Hospital on Monday, July 17, 2017, Mr. Donald Stevenson of Swan Lake First Nation passed away at the age of 55 years.

He leaves to mourn his partner Faye McKinney; nine children, Chris Prince (Cheryl), Pam Cameron (Les), Melvin Prince (Melanie), Kale Connolly, Stephanie Whitford, Dustin Stevenson, Samantha Stevenson, Jenessa Stevenson and Devon McKinney; 17 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his mother Rita Cameron; his grandmother Elsie Cameron; one sister Lisa Cameron (Kevin); 2 nephews, Darren Cameron (Alicia) and Derrick Cameron (Ashley); five great nieces and nephews; special friends, Janice, Mary, Theresa and Shelley and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Donald Stevenson Sr; his grandparents, Richard Cameron and Nellie Cameron; three aunts, Lorna Smith, Karen Cameron and Millie Cooke; and by nine uncles, Ricky Cameron, Norman Cameron, Floyd Cameron, Vernon Stevenson, Arnold Stevenson, Raymond Stevenson, Harvey Stevenson, Larry Stevenson and Harold Stevenson.

Donnie was a care giving person and very protective of his family. As a young man he joined a boxing club and participated in many boxing tournaments. He practiced and lived the traditional ways and teachings. Donnie loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donnie was loved by numerous family and friends.

A Traditional Wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Saturday, July 22, 2017 commencing with the feast at 12 noon. Interment will follow on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
