If one word could describe Doc Champagne, that word would be
LOVE. He loved his family and friends, he loved his career as a physician and he loved all the many people he brought into the world and treated throughout their lifetimes and with compassion and love he guided and comforted many in their final moments on this earth. Doc loved his home and he loved his community and did so much to better the lives of people in St Claude and surrounding areas with his community involvement. He always had a smile on his face when he made his way around town greeting people. Docs family has suffered a great loss in his passing as well as the community and citizens of St Claude. Doc will not soon be forgotten and will remain in our hearts for many years to come. It is a tremendous source of pride that Doc was recognized for his contributions by a memorial at the Health Center and as such he will forever be in his beloved St.Claude and in our hearts.

The community has truly lost one of the finest citizens ever. Doc was a shining example of a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, a cherished friend, a talented and compassionate physician, a respected community leader, a patriotic veteran and a caring person. Doc devoted his life to helping others and just knowing him made the lives of so many people much richer.
Our condolences go to Doc's
Family on their loss but know that despite his passing from this world he will remain alive in the hearts of so many people for many years to come.

Our sincerest condolences to the entire family. I have so many great memories of Doc & Laurence when we would hang out at the Champagne house or in their beautiful yard & garden as kids. Every time I met Doc then or since I was always greeted with a warm smile.

I will miss his weekly chats when he would go to the pharmacy. He would sometimes sit in the waiting room at the clinic and talk to the patients. He had some very interesting stories. Last week he was exiting the clinic and he looked at the patients in the waiting room and looked at his statue and said "boy that is one good looking fellow" and chuckled. I will miss his "bonjour la belle". RIP DOC. Enjoyed working with you in the old clinic.
