Laurent Lecoq

Peacefully at the Tiger Hills Health Centre in Treherne, Manitoba, on Thursday, August 3, 2017, Mr. Laurent Lecoq of Holland, Manitoba passed away at the age of 77 years.

He leaves to mourn his children, Darlene Lamoureux (Albert), Mark Lecoq (Clarisse) and Dwain Lecoq (Kelly); his grandchildren, Adam, Dawn (Jason), Desiree (Daniel), Robin (Ryan), Tanis (Anthony), Laine (Emily) and Camryn and great-grandchildren, Adam, Treyvan, Kadence, Rylan, Callie, Aidan and Kinley; brothers and sisters, Angele Chaperon, Antoinette Coppens, Léon (Solange) Lecoq, Yvonne (Robert) Callawaert and Denis (Marie) Lecoq; sisters-in-law, Gail Kleebaum and Sherry Cooper; brother-in-law Tim McQuay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Laurent was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Lecoq (née McQuay) in 2015; parents Antoine Lecoq and Guillemine (née Hutlet); parents in-laws, Bill and Alma McQuay; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bert Chaperon, Harry Coppens, Maureen Smith (Lugsdin), Norman Kleebaum, Jim Lugsdin and Matthew McQuay.

Laurent and Bonnie were married on November 25th, 1961. They lived on the family farm in the Treherne area for a couple years until Laurent took a position as a grain buyer for NM Paterson Elevators, first in Crystal City, Manitoba then to Disley, Saskatchewan and eventually to Meadows, Manitoba. He started his business, Aable Roofing, in June of 1969 until 1999 when they moved to Holland, which was always considered 'home'.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Holland Community Hall on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. with a video tribute prior to the service. A luncheon will follow and the procession to Beaconsfield Cemetery will be at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
