Pearl Edith Dobbin

Peacefully at the Tiger Hills Manor in Treherne, MB on Saturday, June 22, 2019 Mrs. Pearl Dobbin of Treherne, MB passed away at the age of 84 years. 

Pearl leaves to mourn her four daughters, Lynne (George) Adam, Velda (Murray) Perkins, Janice (Cliff) Sylvester and Nadine Dobbin; nine grandchildren, Jolene (Curtis), Rachelle (Colin), Kelsey, Rylan (Hannah), Jason, Reid (Candice), Jannelle (Keith), Shelby (Colton) and Cole (Erica) and granddaughter-in-law Dawne; 16 great-grandchildren, George, Leo, Scarlet, Lucie, Vivian, Lincoln, Kolt, Bradlee, Isabelle, Rhett, Weston, Trig, Luke, Azailia, Skyla and Aubree.  She also leaves to mourn two sisters, Ruth (Fred) Samson and Ila Murrell; and one aunt Lillian Hird.  

Pearl was predeceased by her husband Harold Dobbin in 1980; her parents, Harry and Ivy Triggs; one grandson Matthew; two great-grand children, Robert and Myla; and by a  brother-in-law James Murrell. 

Pearl was born in Treherne on August 6, 1934.  She was the oldest of three girls raised on the family farm.  She attended school in Treherne.

When she married Harold Dobbin on January 19, 1955, she moved to his family farm north of the river.  They raised four daughters.  She worked in Treherne at the Central Hotel and Pinder's Pharmacy, and in MacGregor at the bakeshop.  She drove students to school for over forty years, mostly employed by Pine Creek School Division.

She enjoyed knitting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, royalty, dancing and Bingo.  For over 70 years, she kept scrapbooks chronicling people and events.

She loved to travel and visited such places as Cuba, Mexico, England, various parts of the US including Alaska, Canada coast to coast and the Yukon.

She was a 4-H head leader, school trustee and served on Sprucedale and Bethel Cemetery boards.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and doctors at Boundary Trails and Tiger Hills Health Center for their care and compassion. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice.
