Armand Celestin Edouard Grenier
Armand Grenier passed away peacefully on Friday November 20, 2009 at Salem Home, Winkler, at the age of 80 years after suffering with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita (née Routhier) of Lorette, MB; his children: Helene (Roger) Delorme, Raymond (Susan) Grenier, Suzanne (Cliff) Kehler and Lillian Grenier (Randy McLeod); 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister Rachelle (Arthur) Labossiere; and one sister-in-law Yvonne Grenier.
He was predeceased by his parents; infant son George; one grandson Louis Delorme; his only brother Antonio Grenier and by one brother-in-law Lucien Labossiere.
He was the first born of three children to Adrien and Odila (Rondeau) on March 18, 1929 in St. Leon, MB. He was raised and spent all his life in St. Leon. He married Rita (Routhier) on May 9, 1951. They farmed south of St. Leon until they retired to town in 1975. He was a man of varied hobbies: fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and loved the outdoors. He worked for the school division as a mechanic and also enjoyed driving school bus for many years.
Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Leon Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Viewing at 2:00, Mass at 2:30 p.m. and interment to follow at St. Leon Cemetery with Father Gabriel Levesque officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, B-170 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3H4.
