Donald M. Rondeau
Peacefully, with his family by his side at the Riverview Health Centre on Friday, June 28, 2019, Mr. Donald Rondeau of Winnipeg, Manitoba, formally of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 79 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife Lucille (née Lussier) and three sons, Gérald (Gisèle) Rondeau, Marc (Lise) Rondeau and Joël (Carole) Rondeau; 10 grandchildren, Stéphane, Véronica, Brigitte, Jolene, Mélanie, Brianne, Danielle, Kateri, Martial and Milanne. Also left to mourn are his brothers and sisters, Fernand (Bonnie) Rondeau, Éliette Berta (Dan), Patricia Nolin, Nicole (Ken) Weiss, Hubert (Cathy) Rondeau, Rhéal (Debbie) Rondeau, Roland Rondeau (Jutta) and Guy (Céline) Rondeau; brothers and sisters in-law, Margaret Lussier, René Lussier (Mary) and Robert (Claudette) Lussier as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his parents Urbain and Liliane Rondeau, his sister Doreen Rondeau (Raymond Malthouse) and by his in-laws, Donald Lussier, Marie-Ange Lussier, Denise (Joseph) Payjack, Eugène Nolin, Arlene Lussier and Norma (Edgar) Clark.
Donald Rondeau grew up on a small family farm near St-Leon, MB and went to school nearby. He married Lucille (née Lussier) at the age of 22 and they had three children, Gerald, Marc and Joël. After working in Winnipeg and spending some time in Alberta, Donald moved back to the Somerset area where he owned and operated several successful businesses throughout his career, displaying his entrepreneurial spirit. Donald volunteered his time and gave back to his community in numerous ways throughout his life but his number one priority was always his family. He truly was a caring and compassionate man who had a way of connecting with people.
Funeral Service will be held in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Catholic Church in Somerset, MB on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Memorial Service at 1:30 followed by Funeral Mass at 2 pm with Father Paulin Akpapupu officiating.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to CancerCare Manitoba and to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Riverview Health Centre.
