Edith Catcheway
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Koko, Kooks, sister and aunty, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 79 years.
Edith leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Eileen Catcheway; 17 grandchildren, Justin, Felicia, Dakota, Brandi, Cherise, Dwayne, Vanessa, Vincent, Donald, Freddy, Serena, Angel, DJ, Sheldon, Sullivan and Trevor; and 27 precious great-grandchildren. She also leaves to treasure her memory one sister Myrtle Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews relatives, friends and bingo buddies.
She was predeceased by her husband Adelard in 1972; five children, Darren, Gregory, Deborah, Lisa and Darryl; and by three grandchildren, Tanner, Alisah and Gerald.
Edith was always laughing and smiling. She never forgot a birthday or a special occasion and always had goodies or pastries. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and always up for an adventure or a good road trip. Especially if it was to BINGO. She had bingo buddies from all over and always shared laughs with the girls Rosie, Lilllian, Hazel and Joyce. Edith worked throughout her entire life as the Community Health Representative for Swan Lake First Nation, for 27 years and with DOCFS for 32 years.
A Traditional wake will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 4 p.m. Traditional Funeral Services will be held at the Swan Lake First Nation Cultural Centre on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12 noon with Wayne Scott officiating. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery.
