He leaves to mourn his passing five children: Reg Gobin of Carman, Pierrette (Norman) Buisson of Winnipeg, Cécile Gobin of Winnipeg, André (Dolores) Gobin of St. Claude, Jacqueline (Anthony) Schick of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren: Trent, Shannon (Jeremy), Lindsay (Justin), Melissa, Brodie, Brendon and Aaron; two great-grandchildren: Alex and Julia. He also leaves to mourn three sisters: Irène, Marie and Claudine; and three brothers: Maurice, René and Raymond. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothée (nee Lacroix) in 2004 and by one son Guy in 1980.
Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Father Célestin Malengu Mubaya officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
