He will be lovingly missed by three children:  Lucille (Greg) Gaudet, Paulette (Ben) Gaudet and Denis (Denise) Fortier;  one daughter-in-law Mariette Fortier; 18 grandchildren:  Glenn (Elaine), Michelle (Alain), Kevin, Eric (Anna), Martin (Manon), Jacqueline, Mark, Edward ( Chantal), Kimberley (Tracy), Danielle (Chad), Bernadette (Curtis), Celeste (Dallas), Jocelyne (Kyle), Stephanie (Kyle), Christopher, Samantha, Jessica and Nicholas;  16 great-grandchildren:  Emily, Thomas, Stephane, Bréelle, Justin, Patrick, Eric, Valérie, Christine, Jérémie, Luis, Colby, James, Sera, Brooke and Amy;  3 sisters-in-law Desiree Fortier, Rose Desrochers (Elton Cornock) and Mary Ballegeer; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Leo was born in St. Leon, Manitoba on March 16, 1907.  He was the 13th child of a family of 15 children raised by his parents Aime and Exirille Fortier.  In 1938, he married Jeanne Goedert and together raised six children. He farmed until 1960, then moved to Somerset and worked for the R.M. of Lorne until 1972 when he retired.  Leo enjoyed his fruit trees and gardening, he loved playing cards, watching the Canadiens on TV, car rides and visiting.  Pepère's love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was never ending.

The family would like to thank the Homecare staff and the staff of the Notre Dame Foyer, for all their care and attention given to Dad.
