Peacefully at the Tiger Hill Health Centre in Treherne, Man on Sunday October 24, 2004, Mrs. Reta Smallacombe of Treherne, Manitoba passed away at the age of 93 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing one son Clayton (Pattsy) Smallacombe; 3 grandchildren: Raymond (Sherri), Alan and Patricia; and 2 great-grandchildren: Skylar and Griffin. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Smallacombe, one brother Alex and by one sister Lillian and her husband Arnold.
Reta was born in the Holland district on September 25, 1911 to Fred and Amelia McMillan. Reta and her husband Earl farmed near Lavenham, Rosendale and LaRiviere. Reta also worked in housekeeping at the Treherne Hospital as well as at the egg grading station. They lived for a while in Victoria B.C. and Winnipeg as caretakers for apartment blocks. Reta enjoyed taking part in sports such as bowling and curling and loved to watch television, especially baseball, hockey and curling.
Graveside Services will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Treherne, Man on Thursday October 28 , 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev Jim Haupt officiating.
