Adèle Bellec

(née Hince)

Peacefully at the St. Claude Health Centre on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Mrs. Adèle Bellec of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the age of 91 years.

Adèle leaves to mourn her passing three children: Madeleine Bazin (Kelly), Bob Bellec (Francine) and Michel Bellec (Monique); four grandchildren: Lennon (Carolyne), Bradley (Dana), Marina and Marcus; three great grandchildren: Whitney (Ian), Aaron and Zachary and one great great grandchild Keaton. She also leaves to mourn her brother Henri (Cécile) Hince and four sisters-in-law: Irène Bellec, Robertine Hince, Jeanne Hince and Beatrice Hince as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert Bellec, daughter Simone Dupasquier, son-in-law Denis (Buzz) Bazin and brothers and sisters: Marie, Louis, Alphonse, Denise and Joseph.

Adele was born July 26, 1923, the 3rd child of Edmund and Marie Louise Hince. In 1947 she married her neighbour and returning WW11 soldier Albert Bellec. They settled on a farm 8 miles north of St. Claude where they raised their 4 children. Mom worked on the farm, grew a large garden, and we can still remember the taste of her homemade bread. In 1973 they retired to town. There Adele got involved in many different committees: the Gazette, the church choir, the historical society, bingo and the Filles d'lsabelle. She was very creative; she could draw well and one year she made her own Christmas cards. She took up cake decorating and made many very nice cakes for weddings, anniversaries, etc. In her younger years she loved to dance and jig and she always enjoyed listening to the good fiddling music of her father and brothers. Adele loved to socialize and attended most of the community's functions with her good friend Renée Marie until her health declined. She spent the last 9 months of her life at the TCU at the St. Claude Health Center where she enjoyed sharing memories and laughter with her new friends and also trying to beat her sister in law Irene at cards. Mom loved babies and was blessed with a great great grandchild Keaton last Christmas. Family gatherings were one of her greatest joys.... rest assured, Mom, that we will always save you a place at any of our get-togethers.

Funeral Services will be held in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Monday, September 22, 2014. Recitation of the Rosary, Eulogy and Music at 1:30, Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. followed by family interment in the Parish Cemetery with Mgr. Roger Bazin and Father Alain Guenou officiating.

The family would like to greatly thank the staff at the St. Claude Health Centre for their care and compassion towards Mom during her short stay there. A special thank you to her good friends who gave her and the family on-going support in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Claude Pavilion and St. Claude Palliative Care Box 400, St. Claude, MB R0G 1Z0.
