Albert Louis Monchamp
Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Saturday February 9, 2013, Mr. Albert Monchamp of Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB, passed away at the age of 85 years.
Albert is survived by his loving wife Simone (née Pelé); his sons: Gérald, Hubert (Florence), Bertrand (Doris), Rhéal (Rose-Anne) and Paul (Janine); 10 grandchildren: Roxanne (Jeff Fjeldsted), Steven (Amber), Chris (Jen), Cheryl, Danielle, Marc (Megan), Richard, Natasha, Noah, Nadia; four great-grandchildren: Luke, Carly, Hailey and Sarah; his sisters: Solange (Romeo Sibilleau) and Simone Tait. Albert is also survived by Simone’s family: Thérèse Le Neal (Fernand), Joseph (Yvonne) Pelé, Agnes Comte, Cécile (Roland) Bazin, Lucien (Raymonde) Pelé, Alice (René) Badiou and Suzanne (Harold) Turnbull; one sister-in-law Collette Pelé and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, Pierre and Helene (née Badiou); sister, Andrée (Aurele Sibilleau); in-laws Bill Tait, Meinrad Pelé, Constance (Albert Julien), Jean LeNeal and Leon Comte.
Albert was born on March 15, 1927, in Notre Dame de Lourdes. He married Simone Pelé on October 20, 1951. He farmed until l981 when he retired and moved to town. He was also the caretaker of the manor in Notre Dame for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his coffee buddies, many friends and family.
Family prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Friday February 15, 2013 at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Saturday February 16, 2013. Prayers and Eulogy at 1:30, Funeral Mass a 2 pm, followed by interment in the Parish Cemetery with Father Leon Mubikayi officiating.
