Albert Rouire

On February 17, 2016, Mr. Albert Rouire of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 78 years.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 53 years Jeanne (née Bernard); his three children Gérald (Anneke) Rouire, René (Sharon) Rouire, Denise (Chad) Laing and daughter-in-law Cathy Rouire; seven granddaughters Jeannette, Mariah, Mikayla, Julianna, Melanie, Claire and Nicole and one grandson Scott.

He also leaves to mourn his siblings: Maurice Rouire, Joseph (Francine) Rouire, Alice Labossiere, Raymond (Anita) Rouire, Yvonne (Roland) Dequier, Roland (Pauline) Rouire and Diane (Ron) Anaka; and in-laws Gertrude (Henri) Lambert, Suzanne Hargin, Monique (Wayne) Lambert, Denis Bernard, Lucille Smith and Giselle (Jacques) Ricard as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Yvonne (née Laporte) Rouire, his son Rhéal in 2007, sisters Denise Rouire at infancy and Georgette Lemieux, in laws: Eugene and Odile Bernard, Angèle Rouire, Guy Lemieux, Florent Labossiere, Gilles (Marie) Bernard and Greg Smith.

Albert married Jeanne in 1962 and together they operated a mixed dairy and grain farm in Haywood with their family. In 1995 they sold their dairy farm and moved to St. Claude while Albert continued to run a grain farm with his sons Gérald and René. His grandchildren loved going for combine rides with him in the fall. Albert was also a skilled and crafted carpenter and woodworker, a talent he shared with his son Rhéal. During his downtime, Albert could be found in his shop building various pieces of furniture, big or small. He often helped out friends and neighbours with repairs and projects. No matter what the job, Albert would never rest until it was perfectly done.

The family would like to thank Dr. Viens, doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre, Treherne and Portage RCMP, EMS and STARS.

Funeral services in honour of Albert and Jeanne will be held at the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Memorial service at 1:15pm, Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the Parish Cemetery with Father Roger Bazin officiating.
