Alex Sawchyn
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alex Sawchyn at the St. Boniface Hospital on Friday April 29, 2022 at the age of 27 years.
He will forever be loved and remembered by his father Bob Sawchyn (Christine Comte); his siblings, Tori (Dominic Martens), Carly Sholikowski and Matthew Sawchyn; his nephew Brooks Martens; his girlfriend Emily Nunoda and her parents Peter and Joanne Nunoda; his grandparents Isabel Sawchyn (nee Eckmier) and Jacques and Yvonne Boisclair (nee Harper); his aunt Natalie (Tim St. James); his uncle Larry Sawchyn and his cousins Lily St. James, Sheldon and Quinton Sawchyn; as well as many friends.
Alex is predeceased by his mother Jacqueline Sawchyn (née Boisclair) and grandfather Tom Sawchyn.
Alex came into the world on March 22, 1995 in Orangeville, Ontario. In 1999, the family relocated to Winnipeg, where Alex grew up. He attended Sun Valley Elementary, John Pritchard and J.H. Bruns Collegiate and then went on to University College of the North to pursue his passion in Natural Resource Management and Technology.
Upon completion of his schooling, he went on to be Senior Park Interpreter at Grand Beach and Birds Hill. This was Alex’s dream job as he loved the outdoors. Many adventures involved fishing, canoeing, hiking and camping, surrounded by a brotherhood of friends for over thirteen years.
Alex was kind, caring, patient, optimistic, smart, passionate and selfless.
Our hearts are broken and Alex will be sadly missed by all those lives he touched.
