Alfred (Freddie) De Maré

Peacefully at the Notre Dame Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2009, Mr. Alfred De Maré of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 77 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing five children:  Monique (Emile Grenier) of Altamont, Roger (Sandra) of Edmonton, Lauraine (Marcel Bérard) of Somerset, Diane (Denis Savoie) of Winnipeg, and Daniel of Somerset; and three grandchildren:  Tiffany, Kirstyn and Zoé.  Freddie is also survived by his brothers:  Lucien, Henry, Camille (Corlyse) and Dennis; his sisters:  Cecile (Lloyd Roberts), Laurette (Rosaire Beaulac) and Terry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends .

He was predeceased by his wife Annette; his parents Emile and Louise; three siblings: André, Richard and Alice; and by three nephews: Robbie, Ricky and Laurie.

A Celebration of Freddie’s life will be held in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Catholic Church in Somerset, Manitoba on Thursday, March 26, 2009.  Recitation of the rosary will take place at 2 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:30 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Notre Dame Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
