Alice Marginet

d. October 1, 2013

Alice Ida Marginet

At 2:50 a.m. on October 1, 2013, after a struggle with several ailments, Alice Marginet left us to join her deceased parents Alberic and Louise (nee Hutlet), her brothers Roland and Raymond, sister Angeline, brother-in-law Clement Adam and nephew Jason.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her sisters:  Mary Adam, Adele (Albert) Cabernel, Marguerite (Joe) Baete, Angele (Armand) Fifi, Celine (Reynald) Lebeau, Annette (Albert) Wytinck and brother Robert (Jackie) Marginet.  She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, many children or adults she babysat and several dear close friends she considered extra sisters.

Alice was born February 13, 1927 at home in Bruxelles.  She attended St. Gustave and Holland Schools but stayed home early to help her parents with the new arrivals, she being the second eldest.  She was a hard worker and held several jobs in and around Holland and Bruxelles.  Her greatest achievement was her years as correspondent for the Treherne Times with her “Looking Back” column that people still talk about and miss.  Alice was involved in the League for Life Walkathon, the association of Ste. Marie School, babysitting and church prep with Elsie Carels.

Alice lived with her parents and brother Roland on the Marginet Brothers Lumber yard from 1945 to 1996.  She then moved with her Mom to the village of Bruxelles where she resided until her move to Victoria Manor in Holland in 2008.  With failing health she went to the transition unit in Baldur and chose to stay in the Care Home there because of the excellent care she was receiving.

Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the St. Gerard Catholic Church in Bruxelles, MB on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.  Viewing, eulogy and music at 1:30, Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. followed by Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
