Alice Meyer (née Monchamp)

February 13, 1934 - February 27, 2010

With her family by her side, Alice passed away peacefully at the Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, MB at the age of 76 years.

Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband Elie, son Jacques, parents Maurice and Diana, brother Louis, brother-in-law Stan and son in law James.

Alice is survived by her children, Diane, Michele (Ralph), Louis (Guylaine), Pierre (Cheryl), Marie (Alfred) and Denis (Paula); sisters, Berthe (Jack) and Janine (Ralph); brother Marcel (Noreen); sister-in-law Verna; 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Alice was born in St. Norbert, Manitoba and graduated from the St. Norbert Convent.  After graduation she began working as a Manitoba Telephone System Operator.  She married her beloved Elie on her 20 ^th birthday, February 13, 1954, in St. Norbert Catholic Church.  After their marriage Alice and Elie resided in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba from 1954-1996, where they both worked together in the family bakery along with raising their seven children and welcomed the blessing of each of their 18 grandchildren.

A few years after Elie’s passing Alice resided briefly in Winnipeg and then Somerset, Manitoba, where she embraced the blessing of four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, March 6, 2010.  Memorial Service at 1:30 followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm. with Father Léon Mubikayi officiating.   Interment in the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery.
