He was predeceased by his grandparents Georges and Marie Dion, grandmother Georgette Montsion and by his uncle Roger Painchaud.
André Dion was born in St. Claude, Manitoba on August 9, 1983. He was a very happy and ambitious young man. At such a young age he had already reached many goals. He had begun a solid career, was planning to marry the love of his life and was very excited to build a home with his fiancée.
He spent his winters playing hockey coached by his Dad and most recently played with the Notre Dame Hawks, getting more and more excited as the play offs approached. He was very passionate about hockey and the Montreal Canadians. Hockey, family and friends were a big part of his life. He enjoyed traveling to Montreal with friends and was overjoyed when it involved a loss for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In the summer, he spent a lot of time on the farm in St. Claude with his family. He loved to help with chores and harvesting. André enjoyed to golf with friends and introduced his fiancée Victoria to the game that she now loves. He spoke very highly about his family, he was a family man. He also became very close to his fiancée’s parents. His presence in a room never went unnoticed. His amazing smile and humour filled a room with joy. In every aspect of his life André had many close friends who he cared about dearly. You could always count on André to cheer you up or to make you laugh and he has left us with many memories filled with love and joy.
He will remain in our hearts forever. He is now our angel in heaven looking over us and cheering proud and strong: “GO, HABS, GO! OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ!”
