Andre Alphonse Timmerman
Andre passed away peacefully at the Lorne Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
He was born on March 1, 1922 at St. Alphonse, MB and lived with his mom and dad on the family farm. He took his schooling at St. Albert and Norquay School. He then moved to the Swan Lake area and continued farming with his parents. On October 14, 1948, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Stevens and together they raised their four children, Joyce, Jerry, Karen and Kathy.
Andre enjoyed working with his family both mixed and grain farming. He was involved in community work as a school trustee, church trustee, director of the local Pool Elevator and a 4-H Leader.
He was a great husband and family man and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the great outdoors, such as golfing and travelling.
Andre leaves to mourn his loving wife Evelyn (nee Stevens); three children: Joyce (Albert) Zeghers, Karen (Dennis) Dearing and Kathy (Danny) Decosse; one daughter-in-law Judy Timmerman; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn one sister-in-law Delores Timmerman; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Andre also leaves to mourn Evelyn’s three sisters: Margaret Lecoq, Madeline Cabernel and Cecile Geirnaert; one brother George (Diane) Stevens.
He was predeceased by one son Jerry in 2010; one grandson Trevor Zeghers in 1996; his parents Joseph and Zulma Timmerman; one brother Rene Timmerman; and one sister Emelda Van de Kerckhove.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Swan Lake, MB on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Father Francis Eworo officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
