Antoine Desrochers

Antoine Desrochers, passed away with his family by his side at the Notre Dame Foyer on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at the age of 93 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Germaine (née Rheault); his children, Paulette (Ivan) Van Damme, Emile (Tracey) Desrochers, Denise (Jean) Delaquis and Roselyne (Denis) Collet; his grandchildren, Darcy (Danielle), Breanne (Nikho), Natalie (Adam), Martin (Malcolm), Janelle (Luke), Miguel (Sophie), and Jenée; his great-grandchildren, Declan, Ivy, and Daisy.

Also left to mourn are his siblings, Flora Poirier, Cécile (Norbert) Labossière, Lucien (Terry) Desrochers and Clement (Marilyn) Desrochers; his in-laws, Cécile Desrochers, Velma Desrochers, Juliette Rheault and Leon Lecoq. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Israel and Célendé Desrochers; his parents-in-law, Aimé and Léa Rheault; his siblings, Guy Desrochers, Rita Desrochers, Marie-Ange (Laurent) Girouard, Edgar Desrochers and Thomas Desrochers; and his in-laws, Jean Poirier, Ernest Rheault, Solange Lecoq, Germain (Yolande) Rheault, and Noël (Shirley) Rheault.

Antoine was born on September 3, 1933, in Somerset, Manitoba. A few years later, his family moved to Mariapolis, where he attended school before continuing his education at the convent in Bruxelles. He spent 12 years farming alongside his father in Mariapolis, developing a lifelong passion for grain and cattle farming. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Germaine. Together, they shared 66 years of marriage and raised four children. Antoine was a hardworking, honest farmer and a devoted Catholic whose strong faith and beliefs guided his life. He loved his family deeply, and they were everything to him. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Memorial Service at 2:30, Funeral Mass at 3:00pm followed by a Private Interment at the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend the luncheon that will follow the service at the Notre Dame Centennial Hall. The Service will be Live Streamed at www.afh.ca
