Antonia Gagné
(née Massinon)
After a lengthy illness and surrounded by the love of her family, Antonia Gagné, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2008 at the Notre Dame Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 46 years; Benoit Gagné, and her six children; Lucille (Nathaniel) Plett, Yolande Gautron, Gilbert (Yvonne) Gautron, Roger (Glenda) Gagné, Paul (Carol) Gagné and Michel Gagné. Also left to mourn are her 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is survived by her two sisters Irene Massinon and Jeaninne (Roger) Touzin. Remembering her forever, are her special niece and coffee partner Cecile, and her extended Poirier family.
She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Gautron (1956), and loving parents Maurice and Esther Massinon, one brother, one sister and one sister-in-law.
Mom was born in Aubigny, MB. on December 26, 1928, the second of five children to Maurice and Esther Massinon. The family moved to Haywood in 1946. Her love of life as a wife, mother and grandmother fulfilled her days. She will always be remembered for her knitting and baking projects.
The family would like to offer their thanks to the doctors and staff at the Notre Dame hospital, St. Claude Clinic, and the St. Claude regional homecare.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood, MB on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Fr. Céléstin Malengu Mubaya officiating. Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Manitoba Developmental Centre in c/o Residents Benefit Fund, Box 1190 Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3C6.
