Peacefully, after a brief struggle with cancer, Mr. Antonio Grenier passed away at the Lorne Memorial Hospital, in Swan Lake, Manitoba on Wednesday February 15, 2006 at the age of 75 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 52 years, Yvonne Grenier (nee Brichon); his children: Jules (Charlene) Grenier, Viviane (Leo) Delaquis, Daniel (Salut) Grenier, Charles Grenier and friend Roxanne, Mona (Grant) Checkley and Andre Grenier along with his grandchildren Raphael, Denis, Camille, Beau Grenier, Christelle (Chris) Edel, Kelsey Boulet, Danielle Grenier, Brittany, Douglas Checkley, Ghislaine, Stephane et Shaylyn Grenier and great granddaughter Kaylyn Edel. He also leaves his brother Armand (Rita) Grenier and his sister Rachel (Arthur) Labossiere as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Adrien and Odila (nee Rondeau).
Antonio was born and raised in St. Leon, Manitoba. Farming both dairy (until 1991) and grain (until 1995) were his passions in life. So much so, that he continued both as a hobby until his passing. In 1977 Tony's warm and caring nature encouraged him to take a reflexology course, which he put in to good use for numerous family and friends in the surrounding area. He was also very proud of being a board member for the Caisse St. Leon-Lourdes for 25 years. Upon his retirement from the farm, Tony really enjoyed playing cards, with both family and friends as well as square and old time dancing with his wife. Antonio will always be remembered for his kind, gentle and caring nature, his deep devotion to his family and his great pride in his grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at the Lorne Memorial Hospital for their excellent care displayed towards Antonio.
