It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barry, surrounded by the love of his family.
Barry will be forever cherished by his devoted wife of 60 years, Helen, and his children, Preston and Pamela (Bruce). He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Aileen (née Grogan) Stanton, and his parents-in-law, Merton and Nora (née Whalen) Robertson.
Family was everything to Barry. He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews and was a constant source of love and support.
Barry spent his entire life in the Treherne area, where his roots ran deep. From his early school days—walking to Louise School in the cold mornings to start the fire so it would be warm for his classmates—to his years as a dedicated farmer, Barry embodied hard work and integrity. He instilled these values in his children and lived by example every day.
He also served his community faithfully, driving the school bus for Tiger Hills School Division No. 29 for many years, ensuring children arrived safely and on time. Many said they could set their watches with Barry’s reliability.
Barry took great pride in everything he touched—his yard, his vehicles, his beautiful fields—and most importantly, in caring for his parents, In-laws, aunts and uncles. Strong, loyal, and a man of few words, Barry had a quick wit and spoke only when it mattered.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, his helping hand, and his steady, reassuring presence.
A Funeral Service will be held at Treherne United Church on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Cemetery.
