Beatrice Piché (nee Arnal)
Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday September 29, 2003, Mrs. Beatrice Piché of Fannystelle, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 83 years.
Beatrice was born in Fannystelle, Manitoba on April 27, 1920 to Almir and Bertha (née Besse) Arnal. She leaves to mourn her passing 2 children: Ralph and wife Sylvie Piché of Fannystelle, Lorraine and husband Raymond Bernardin of St. Eustache; 6 grandchildren: Jeanine, Marc (fiancée Sara Clark), Jim (Kestrel), Lise Piché; Philippe and Jocelyne Bernardin. She also leaves to cherish her memory 7 sisters: Gertrude Obee, Hélène Piché, Lilianne Beaudry, Florence Tilt (William), Irène Kuhl, Rita Albert (Camil) and Lorraine Tinckam; 6 brothers: Léo (Stella), Louis (Melanie), Vincent (Gertrude), René (Pat), Jules (Gladys) and Richard (Claire); 5 sisters-in-law: Gisèle Piché, Marcelle Caron, Rolande Piché, Denise Piché and Carol Arnal; 2 brothers-in-law Paul Piché (Lorraine) and Paul Black, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruno Piché in 2001, 2 sisters: Denise Marinoff and Clara Black; and by one brother Alfred.
Beatrice was a person devoted to her family, her community and her parish. She cherished the time with her grandchildren and mémère was a friend to all of them. As a former piano teacher she especially enjoyed the time she and Jocelyne spent at the piano. Mom's passion was her garden and her flower beds. She spent many happy hours tending to her own plants as well as some community areas, always willing to share her love and knowledge of gardening with grandchildren and neighbors.
In spite of physical hardships, Beatrice maintained her independence and self-reliance. Poor eyesight and home dialysis were part of her life, they were challenges that she accepted and dealt with all the while living in her own home. She will be missed as an active member of family, church and community by many.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Fannystelle Roman Catholic Church on Thursday October 2, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Father Armand LeGal officiating. Cremation to follow with interment in the Parish Cemetery at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 200-255 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
