Beatrice Swennen (nee Brodeur)

Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Sunday, February 18, 2018, Mrs. Beatrice Swennen of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba passed away at the age of 85 years.

Beatrice leaves to mourn her beloved husband Henri Swennen; eight children, Jean (Suzanne) Swennen, Diane Herman, Lise Kawtzman (Peter), Gilles Swennen, Louis Swennen, Dennis Swennen, Denise Swennen and Michel Swennen (Patrica); 12 grandchildren, Joel (Roxanne), Jeannine (Derek), Jonathan (Jennifer), Christina (Sam), Melissa, Jamie, Stephanie, Nakita, Natashia, Gilliane, Henri, Christopher, Sarah and Mitchell; 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves one brother Marcel Brodeur, one sister Jeanne Blain and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was born and raised in Quebec on March 13, 1932. She met Henri and they were married April 30, 1955 and together they raised eight children.  They spent most of their life farming and Beatrice enjoyed gardening and cooking.  She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved animals, flowers, knitting as well as camping and fishing with Henri and her family.  Her greatest pride and joy was her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.  She will be sadly missed by all her family and everyone who knew her.

There will be no funeral services at this time and a family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB  R3E 9Z9.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Notre Dame Foyer for all the care and compassion Beatrice has received.
