Peacefully, with family at her side, at the Foyer Notre Dame, on Monday, December 18, 2006 Mrs. Bella Sabourin left us to be with the Lord at the age of 80.
Bella will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years Theodore and her 3 children: Donald (Gisele), Sylvio (Lucette), Ginette (Gilles Fouasse); twelve grandchildren: Stephan, Joline, Remi, Jacques Sabourin, Patrick, Joey (Seresa), Monica, Derrick Sabourin, Joel (Lucy), Charline, Brigitte, Martin Fouasse; three great - grandchildren: Zaria, Khaya, Taliyah Sabourin; her twin brother; Martial (Yvette); brothers and sisters- in- law: Florence (Gerard deceased) Talbot, Cecile (Roland deceased) Provost, Rose Aimee Sabourin, Lucie ( Norbert deceased) Clement, Amedee and Therese Sabourin, Denise and Donat Touchette, Corinne (Roland deceased) Sabourin, Lorraine (Bernard deceased) Ricard, Luc and Yvette Sabourin, Marc Sabourin. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Agnes (Malo) Desrochers; two brothers Gilbert and Dominique and by one sister Isabelle Ritchot.
We consider ourselves priveleged to have had Bella for our wife, mother and grandmother. She was an energetic, hardworking, giving person with a big heart who never expected anything in return.
One of her greatest love was to welcome her family in her home. Mom was a great cook, especially when it came to fresh bread and pies and she would never let us leave the house without a little something. She enjoyed dancing and music, especially Georges Hamel, travelling, sewing, gardening, berry picking, house plants, flowers, quilting, and crafts. Mom was a busy, talented person who wasted no time.
A few years ago Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease which changed her life and ours forever. It broke our hearts to see how debilitating she became both physically and mentally, becoming frustrated that she could no longer do the things she loved. But it did not change her sense of humour and her loving ways. Mom never complained and was very appreciative of all the love and caring shown towards her.
Now Mom is at a better place without suffering. May God care for her as she did for us.
Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Father Charles Fillion officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
