William (Bill) Gordon Norton

Peacefully at the Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg, Mr. William (Bill) Norton passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the age of 87 years.

He leaves to mourn his son, Will Norton; siblings Muriel (Jack) Clements and Patricia Huggart; brother in-law Bill Huggart, sister-in law Caroline Duheme and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Colleen (née Murray), parents Gordon and Margaret Norton, sisters Gladys Huggart, Margaret Rose Norton and brother-in-law Thomas Huggart.

Bill was born in the Rathwell area and grew up on the family farm. His love of mechanics started as a young boy where he was always taking something apart and putting it back together. Bill was in the navy and travelled to many parts of the world. After his time in the service he worked as a heavy-duty mechanic and loved working on machines and vehicles of all kinds.

Bill lived in many places in Western Canada finally settling in Starbuck, MB where he lived with his wife Colleen and their son, Will. Bill spent his final days in the Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff for the care they extended to Bill during his time there.

A Private Funeral Service will be held for both Bill and Colleen on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1 pm at Adam’s Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Starbuck Cemetery.
