Brian McKinney Gichi Noodin (Great Wind) October 27, 1960 - December 7, 2019

Peacefully at the Brandon Hospital on Saturday, December 7, 2019, Brian McKinney of Swan Lake First Nation passed away at the age of 59 years

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Janet Soldier-McKinney; four children, Vanessa (Danny Hall), Nicky McKinney (Trevor Sumner), Brian McKinney Jr. (Katrina Bird) and Brittany McKinney (Nelson Sumner); four grandchildren, Makayla McKinney, Destinee McKinney, Tianna McKinney and Preston McKinney; Brian’s siblings, Gloria (Jim), Cynthia, Dwayne (Carolyn), Diane (Gaylord), Norma, Tracey (Rob), Angela, Pauline (Roger), Paul, Paula (Craig), William and Diane James; Janet’s parents, Audrey and Fred Soldier;  numerous uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his daughter Samantha McKinney; his parents Margaret Myran James and William McKinney; and by his sisters, Mildred, Miranda, Eileen and Lorna.

Traditional Wake will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall at 4 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall, commencing with the feast at 12 noon.  Interment at Forest Hills in Carberry, Manitoba.
