Cameron Brady Gates, “Gator”, age 15 was suddenly returned to God on Saturday, April 7th, 2018. Cameron was a member of the Mountain Mustangs hockey team who recently won a Provincial gold medal.

Cameron will be forever missed by his parents Farrin and Andrea (née Marginet) Gates, his siblings, Connor, Bram, and Reece. He also leaves his paternal grandmother Ruth Gates, his aunts and uncles, Reg (Barbara) Marginet, Carmen Marginet (Robert Onysko), Michelle Marginet (Raymond Nyuli), Kelly (Tina) Gates, Craig (Jana) Gates, Kent (Tracey) Gates, Nancy Gates; as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Alberic and Marguerite(nee Gatin) Marginet of Holland, Manitoba and paternal grandfather Patrick Gates of Cross Timbers, Missouri.

Cam was a loyal teammate, friend and a gifted athlete. He played with passion and grit. Although rarely the biggest player on the ice, Cam never shied away from an opportunity to defend and honour his teammates. He was eager to learn, improve, and persist for his team. Cam had the ability to light up every room he entered with his contagious smile and hilarious personality. Cam was an amazing kid who will be loved forever and always. We will miss your mischievous smile, the twinkle in your eyes and the constant chirps and beaks. He touched so many lives in his short time with us. Cam always had a way to make everyone smile, whether it was his laugh, his unique sense of humour or him just being him. There was never a dull moment with Cam. He was caring, funny, outgoing and a great friend. He was one of a kind

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Roman Catholic in Somerset, Manitoba on Saturday, April 14, 2018.  Eulogy and video tribute at 1:00 followed by Funeral Mass. A private family interment will take place after Mass at the St. John Berchmans Parish Cemetery.

There will be overflow seating at the basement of the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund in Cameron's memory; the Cameron Brady Gates Memorial Fund, cheques made payable to Andrea and Farrin Gates Box 316 Somerset, Manitoba R0G 2L0
