It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Carolynn has begun her journey to the spirit world. Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend left us on Monday, December 8, with her immediate family by her side at the Palliative Unit, Notre Dame Hospital.
Carolynn leaves to mourn her daughters, Rebecca (Ron), Ashley, Roseanne, Sheila and 3 special grandkids that she raised, her beloved Amber (Dante), Quacey (Caitlin), Devin, and 14 other grandchildren Shylea, Bailey, Zander, Kaydence, Jeffery jr., Amelia, Russell, Jane, Freddy, Paris, Malik, Hunter, Violet, Angel, and 6 great-grandchildren, Deon, Dayton, Delilah, Davita, Demetrius, Deucalion
Her sisters also survive her; Fran (Gary), Germaine, Virginia (Ivan); her brothers, Eric, Brent. To carry her memories forward in honour of her.
She was predeceased by her spouse, Dwayne, her infant son, Randy, babygirl Mckinney, her parents, Tony and Alexandra Cameron, her brothers, Arthur, Ralph, Jerome, and Lesley, her sisters, Denice, Bernice, and Patricia; her parents-in-law, William McKinney and Margaret James, as well as numerous family members and friends.
Carolynn fought a short hard battle with cancer, her strong kind heart carrying her till the end. No treatment was to be found, leaving a family devastated to prepare a short time with Carolynn. Carolynn had many challenges during her life, fighting the health care system being the biggest challenge. She loved to work, she was a hard worker, some of the jobs being a the clerk to nurse to her sister Fran, she went above and beyond working NNADP starting programs, working with the community helping those working on themselves, managing the VLT lounge. She was a league pool player which took her to Vegas that she was so proud of going, along with her husband and a crazy bunch of friends. Finishing her grade 12 was one of her life goals and she did it at the age of 46, it’s never too late as she said. She was so organized with beautiful penmanship. She loved her bingo and slots.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Notre Dame Hospital for their care, support, to Carolynn and to the family. A special thanks to the nurses and health care aids who took great care of her, Jodie, Megan, Derika.
We also thank everyone who dropped by to visit Carolynn, those that provided food and coffee, Jordan’s principal, Vern, Swan Lake First Nation Chief and Council.

A wife, a mother, a grandma too.
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight.
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep.
Your love in our hearts we’ll eternally keep.
We love you.❤️
