Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Sunday June 19, 2005, Mrs. Clara Paulhus of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba passed away at the age of 91 years.

She leaves to mourn her passing: son Roger Paulhus and his wife Marie Louise, daughter Evelyn VanDeynze and her husband Gerard, and son Andre Paulhus and wife Sandra; grandchildren:  Claudette, Morris Foidart, Allen and Tracy VanDeynze, Johanne and David Yee, Marc and Sandra VanDeynze, Denis and Jennifer Paulhus, Diane and Hubert Cabernel, Jocelyne and Mike Croteau, Trent and Tia Paulhus, Todd and Nicole Paulhus, Scott and Julie Paulhus, Wade and Camille Paulhus; and great-grandchildren: Amy, Braeden, Katelin, Kinsey, Dylan, Brittany, Danielle, Kimberly, Allison, Christine, Anna, Sarah, Brenden, Bree, Braxtyn and Zane.  Also left to cherish her memory are sisters:  Jeanne Beaudet, Germaine (Paul) Danserau, Helen Moret and brother Maurice (Elliette) Muller, special niece and friend Anna Talbot, special friend Cecile Tarko as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Emile in 1982, her parents Melanie and Victor Muller, three brothers:  Albert (Etiennette), Camille (Marie-Rose) and Joseph Muller; four sisters:  Odile (Eugene Bernard), Marie (Aime Pittet), Anna and Marie Muller; two brothers-in-law Henri Beaudet and Joseph Moret, and by her great grand-daughter Sarah Foidart.

Clara was born August 16, 1913 at Notre Dame de Lourdes.  She attended school there for 8 years, then stayed home to help her parents on the farm.  She married Emile Paulhus on October 11, 1934 and made their home in Notre Dame, together raising three children.  Clara worked at the Foyer for 17 years in the Laundry Dept. In 1994, she moved to Notre Dame Manor where she made this her home for 10 years.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends as well as with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading.  She also was a volunteer at the Foyer for many years, helping with Bingo and cards.  Clara was a member of Les Dames de St. Anne, Le Club D'Age d'Or,  and the Notre Dame Ladies Hospital Auxiliary where she knit many baby bonnets.  In 2004 she moved to the Foyer where she continued playing cards and making new friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and lived her life with dignity, courage and compassion.  She will always be the light of our lives.  Clara had a life we would all be proud to follow.  She had a positive outlook on life.

Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Thursday June 23, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Father Alphonse Bongo officiating.  Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in mom's memory, to the Foyer Notre Dame, Box 190, Notre Dame de Lourdes, R0G 1M0.
