Connie Fay Tiessen

Connie Fay Tiessen, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on December 9, 2024 near Winkler, Manitoba where she resided for the past approximately 10 years. Connie grew up in a farming family near Leamington, Ontario and graduated grade 12 from Rockway Mennonite Collegiate in Kitchener Ontario.  She discovered the Canadian Midwest as she pursued post secondary education in Manitoba and subsequently spent many of her early adult years on the Prairies where she later learned the trade of fine carpentry.  Connie’s mental health often interfered and restricted her life’s goals and desires.  In spite of many disappointments and heartbreak Connie kept her faith in God and rarely complained about her circumstances.  Her greatest joy was her 2 beautiful daughters and she loved them deeply.

Connie is the beloved daughter of Aggie and (late) Harry Tiessen.

Dedicated mother of Camellia (and Francis) O’Huigin, and Miriam Horsch, (her parents Lucy and Hartmut Driedger)

Loving grandmother of Sophia O’Huigin and another on the way.

Cherished sister of Cathie (and Garry) Penner, Roger (and Laura) Tiessen, Linda and (late) Gary Dewhurst, (late) Cliff and (late) Marion Hood.

Connie is lovingly remembered by a few surviving aunts, numerous cousins, several nieces and nephews and a sprinkle of great nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate Connie’s Life on Thursday December 19, 2024 with visitation at 10:00 am in the Leamington Mennonite Home Chapel, 35 Pickwick, Leamington, Ontario with a Service of Dedication to follow at 11:00.  Everyone is invited to join for a light lunch in the Mennonite Heritage Centre, 31 Pickwick, Leamington, ON at noon.
