Cyril Rey

Peacefully at the St. Claude Hospital on Tuesday, Feb 25, 2003 with his beloved family at his side, Cyril Albert Joseph Rey passed away at the age of 86.

He leaves to mourn his passing, 9 children, Raymond Rey of Winnipeg, Eva Fuerst of Winnipeg, Elaine Gates (Larry) of Treherne, Annette Dupasquier of Winnipeg, Claudia Mabon (Gerry) of Winnipeg. Doris Bullock (Joe) of Dryden, Ontario, Rachelle Lavallee of Winnipeg., Michel Rey (Kim) of Winnipeg., Christine Boehmer of Winnipeg, 19 Grandchildren, Lisa, Wendy, Scott, Kevin, Darren, Randy, Pat, Gilles, Stefan, Paul, Joline, Joel, Karrie, Mathieu, Marque, Michelle, Andrew, Stephanie & Ainsley.
12 Great Grandchildren. Cole, Cody, Jordan, Hayden, Anyssa, Kaylin, Stephanie, Trevor, Brittany, Nikita, Natasha & Tiffany. One surviving brother Leon Rey (Rose), one sister-in-law Esther Rey and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 daughter Marie.

Dad was born on Oct 3, 1916 in Haywood Manitoba. His favorite pastimes were fishing, playing cribbage, watching the Toronto Maple Leafs on T.V., playing Kinsmen Bingo, reading the daily newspaper.  We will miss his constant teasing and great sense of humor.

Cy was a well known farm implement mechanic in many surrounding communities. He started the work force in Patricia Pat Mines in N.W. Ontario, returning to Manitoba working in grain elevators, then started his never ending career as a John Deere Mechanic.

After retirement he  spent numerous hours repairing small yard equipment including this past summer he would receive many phone calls from "old customers" to fix machinery broken down in the fields.  The John Deere Man has finally laid down his tools for eternal peace.

The family wishes to thank the St. Claude Hospital Staff for their kindness and wonderful care. A big thank you to Mon Oncle Leon for being there with Dad.
