Peacefully at the Portage Hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2016 Mr. Denis Durand passed away at the at the age of 90 years.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife Diane (née Geeregat) and their four children: Danny (Alexandra), Darlene (Dave) DeMey, Deana (Carl) and Dawn (Yvon) Collet; 10 grandchildren: Melissa, Tyler, Cory, Stefani, Matthew, Kaylee, Dylan, Nathan, Shane and Emma. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Henry Durand, Marie-Joseph (Denis) Lecoq, Rolande Hague (Abe Wiebe) and André (Jeannette) Durand; brothers and sisters in-law: Thérèse Durand, Gerry Simoens, Terry Van Der Vennet (Florin), Marie (Frank) Schindle, Sherry (Alvin) Legary and John (Judy) Geeregat, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Denis was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Alice Durand and Jeanne Jean and parents in-law Joseph and Marie Geeregat, sisters France Durand and Ange-Aimée Simoens, brother Guy Durand and in-laws: Lloyd Hague, Angie Durand, Albert Geeregat, Joseph Geeregat, George Van Der Vennet, Jeanne (Germain) Lesage and Yvonne Geeregat.
Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Treherne, MB on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2 p.m., with Father Jose Montepeque officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Variety Circle of Hearts, 64 Lake Village Rd. Winnipeg MB R3T 4M8.
