Dorothée Gagnon (née Mangin)
Peacefully at the Tiger Hills Health Centre on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Mrs. Dorothée Gagnon of St. Alphonse, MB passed away at the age of 89 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Albert Gagnon; her children, Ronald, Anita, Roger, and daughter-in-law Annette; her grandchildren, Kathleen (Marc), Alyssa, Cindy (Jason), Nadine (Billy), Christian, Chantelle (Pierre), Rochelle (Josh) and Justine; her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Mercedes, Melah, Brynlee, Kai, Max and Amarah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by her sons, Alain, Norman, Daniel and Kenneth; her parents Léon Mangin and Clara (née Godard); her siblings, Lorette (Lucien) Baete, Emilienne (Norbert) Potvin, Denise (Hector) Robidoux and Laurent (Yvette) Mangin; her parents-in-law, Ludger Gagnon and Alice (De Grouwe); and by her in-laws, Eugene (Germaine) Gagnon, André (Irene) Gagnon, Monica (Benoit) Hacault and Stella (Edouard) Lessard.
Dorothée was born November 12, 1931. She was the daughter of Léon Mangin and Clara Godard. She attended Ste. Marie school in Bruxelles. Dorothée married her husband Albert Gagnon on October 22, 1953. For many years they milked cows and raised chickens and pigs. Dorothée had a love of gardening and a passion for tending to the flower beds she had in the farm yard. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. Ritual Sunday gatherings was one of her favourite past times as she loved to gather with family and friends. When Dorothée would win a card game against Albert she always had a way of laughing that would let him know that she won for sure, and in the end they would end up laughing together; and the rest of the family would end up in laughter too, after watching them lovingly tease each other.
Dorothée and Albert had seven children together. Four of which she is reunited with now in heaven. Dorothée was a kind hearted women who was beautiful inside and out. She will be remembered as a women that was outstandingly courageous. She may be gone from our sight but she will never be gone from our hearts.
A Private Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Adam’s Funeral Home. Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. with Fr. Vincent Lusty officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Alphonse Parish Cemetery.
