Douglas John Harp

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Tiger Hills Health Centre on Thursday, September 6, 2018, Mr. Douglas Harp of Treherne, Manitoba passed away at the age of 93 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 70 years, Sadie (née Rathwell); his children, Thelma (Ron) Weicker, Linda (Henry) Major, Laurie (Donna) Harp and Rhonda Harp; his grandchildren, Dallas, Dillon (Kristine), Brad, Teena (Mike), Sean (Jennifer), Craig (Jessie) and Greg (Jocelyn); his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Haley, Jack, Danny,Owen, Andrew, Kayden, Liam, Rylan, Connor, Alex Landon, Matthew and Easton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

He was predeceased by his parents Fred Harp and Laura (née Wright); his brothers, Fred Jr. (Eva) Harp, Fraser (Gwen) Harp and Lawrence Harp; his parents-in-law, Benjamin Rathwell and Gabriella (née Cameron); his siblings-in-law, William (Elaine) Rathwell, Leonard Rathwell, Bob (Dora) Rathwell, Nellie (Wilfred) Elder, Harmon Rathwell, Clifford (Frances) Rathwell and Annie May Rathwell.

Interment will take place at the Bethel Cemetery on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. followed by A Celebration of  Doug’s Life at 2 p.m. in the Holland United Church .

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holland United Church, Box 191 Holland, MB R0G 0X0 or the Tiger Hills Health Foundation c/o Palliative Care or a charity of one’s choice.
