It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dwayne McKinney on May 17, 2022.
Dwayne leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 42 years, Carolynn; daughters Rebecca, Ashley (Jeff), Rosanne (Milo), Sheila (Garett), Amber (Dante); grandchildren Quacey, Devin (Kyleigh), Amelia, Malik, Russell, Shylea, Bailey, Zander, Hunter, Jane, Frederick, Kaydence and Violet; great-grandchildren Deon, Dayton, Delilah and Davita; siblings Gloria (Jim), Cynthia, Diane (Gaylord), Norma, Diane James, Tracey (Rob) and Angela, Paula (Craig), Pauline (Rodrick), and William Jr.; brothers-in-law Eric, Brent, sisters-in-law Fran (Gary), Germaine, Virginia (Ivan) and Janet.
Dwayne was predeceased by his parents William McKinney Jr. and Margaret Myran James; son Randy and baby girl McKinney, brothers Brian and Paul; sisters Mildred, Miranda, Eileen and Lorna.
Dwayne was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish; he also loved drywalling, building play structures for his children and grandchildren. Dwayne liked to play pool, was a member of the Boyz Pool Team. In his early years he played hockey and baseball, he also liked to golf.
Dwayne was never one to be idle, he spent a lot of time with nieces and nephews, teaching them various things, like shooting a gun, hunting, skinning a jumper.
Traditional Wake will take place at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 12 p.m. Interment at the Indian Springs Cemetery
Pallbearers will be, Ryan McKinney, Quacey Scott, Brian McKinney Jr, Tony McKinney, Garret Courchene and Farrell Cameron. Special Pallbearers are Brent Cameron and Devin Scott. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Doug Martin, Brian Walker, Kelly Scott, Delmar Peters, Garett McKinney, Joseph McKinney and all close family and friends.
The family would like to thank Swan Lake First Nation, Swan Lake First Nation Health Centre, Medical Transportation and Meals on Wheels, Boundary Trails Dialysis Unit and Southern Health Ambulance Service for their care, compassion, and financial assistance and to Adam’s Funeral Home for their services.
