Edward Morris Peter Rousset

“Ed”

It is with great sadness, and with happy memories we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend on April 19, 2012.

Now in the arms of the heavenly angels, he leaves to mourn his wife Brenda, special friend Allan, his children Dan (Soithip) Rousset, grandson Garrett Rousset, Deb (Mitch) Mason and their mother Isabel Rousset, along with Brenda’s daughter Brianne (Darren) Wedge.  He also leaves to mourn 3 brothers:  Herve (Martha), Ernie (Irene), Paul (Jackie) 2 sisters:  Toni (Fred) and Lynn (Phil), and all his special nieces and nephews.  Ed was predeceased by his parents Cyprien and Eveline (nee Proteau) Rousset, two sisters:  Therese and Noella, and one brother Charlie.

Ed was born in Carman, MB on December 3, 1940, son of Cyprien and Eveline.  He worked for the City of Winnipeg for 32 years in various departments from the zoo, boulevards, small engines and a foreman in his later years, retiring in 2003.  He enjoyed country living, and this was made possible in 1993 when he moved to Roseisle.  He enjoyed the big farm equipment, and was able to work for many area farmers. He was an avid hunter of elk, moose, deer, and even bison. He also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and special friends. Ed was a man with great strength, a gentle giant with a big heart. He was always willing to help someone in need. He cherished every hour of quality time with his family and friends. Ed was a hard worker and always busy. He loved to garden, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of nature and what it had to offer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hamilton for her wonderful compassionate care and to the staff and nurses at the Notre Dame Hospital. Also to the neighbours, family, friends for their help to allow him to stay at home and fulfill his wishes.

Don’t go where the path leads.

Go instead where there is no path,

and leave a trail.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Notre Dame Centennial Hall in Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Heather Grobb officiating.  Interment will be held at the Green Acres Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice or to the Carman Amigos “Special Olympics” Bowling Team Box 1616 Carman, Manitoba R0G 0J0.
