April 24, 1929 – February 9, 2025

Peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025 while surrounded by loved ones, Betty passed away at the age of 95 at the Tiger Hills Manor. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many.

She was predeceased by her husband Leslie Gates, her daughter Cathy Gates, brothers Ken (Elva) and Robert Leishman (Hazel).

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her children, Larry (Elaine), Grant (Lina), Bonnie, Betty Ann (Roger), Nancy, Brad (Lynn) and Lynda (Chris); 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings Barry (Betty), June and Shelley (Adrian), along with many extended family and friends.

Betty took great pride in her flower gardens, painting, knitting, crocheting, and was an amazing cook who enjoyed hosting large family gatherings.  Betty also devoted her time and baking skills to many community functions over the years.

A Private Funeral Service will be held on April 26, 2025, the service will be Live Streamed at www.afh.ca. Everyone is invited to the graveside service in Woodlands Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
