Elta Brischuk

Elta Brischuk, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Notre Dame Health Centre at the age of 76 years.

She leaves to mourn her husband Ken, her daughters Jennifer (Brad) Sitarz and Corrine (Denis) Charrière, her grandchildren Landen Sitarz, Aidan Sitarz, Nick Charrière and Lee Charrière.  Also left to mourn is her brother Loren Lee, her mother-in-law Olga Brischuk and her in-laws, Leona Lee, Eleanor (Harold) Proppe, Cynthia (Peter) Bodnar, Michael (Cheryl) Brischuk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elta was predeceased by her mother Marguerite Jeffrey, her brother Henry Lee, her sister Betty (Mike) Babcock and her father-in-law Mike Brischuk.

Elta attended school in Minitonas. She grew up with one sister Betty, and two brothers Henry and Loren.   After graduating she moved to Winnipeg to attend nursing school at St. Boniface Hospital.  Once she completed her LPN course she moved back home and was married to Ken Brischuk, 52 years ago.  She started her nursing career in maternity at the Swan River Hospital. While raising her two daughters, her passion grew for gardening, landscaping and her orchard.  Her passion for the natural world extended to her beloved pets, including a special Black Lab.

Once her girls were older, she took a full-time position at the Swan Valley Lodge.  She found this job a perfect fit for her and continued to enjoy it for many years to come. During this period, Elta became a proud grandmother, continued to nurture her garden, and embarked on various travel adventures and ATV trips.

She was known as a caring, thoughtful, compassionate person. Well respected in any community and always had a touch of lipstick to complete her look.

Funeral Service will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2:00pm with interment to follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery.
