Peacefully at the Notre Dame Hospital, embraced by the love of family, friends, and the nursing staff, Mrs. Emily Olson of Treherne, Manitoba passed away on Sunday May 2, 2004, at the age of 70 years.

Predeceased by her husband Bertil Olson and by her parents John and Lena Melnyk.

Loving Mother of Linda, (Ciro) Gucciardi (Waterloo, Ontario), and Godmother of Garry Walchuk (Winnipeg).  Emily will be lovingly remembered by her amazing extended family namely, Gerry and Gail Aubin (Carman), Sarah and family from the Hutterite Colony, the Mexican migrant workers (Aubin Nurseries), Murray Garrioch (Treherne), Margaret, (Mel) Moore, (Treherne), Dan and Carol De Paw (Treherne) and her "protective" companion, Midnight.

Survived by her grandchildren, Tia and Christopher, (Waterloo, Ontario), Sisters, Connie Peterson (Winnipeg), Helen Shore (Los Angeles), Margorie Freund (Beausejour), Brother, Lawrence (Angusville); several nieces and nephews.

At Emily's request, there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place.  A brief graveside service and interment will take place on Saturday June 5, 2004 (Emily's birthday) in the Woodlands cemetery at 2 p.m..  All friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Emily's life at that time.

In lieu of flowers, give some to somebody you love, or plant a tree in mom's memory.  Donations to the Notre Dame, Palliative Care Unit would also be appreciated and can be sent to Box 190, Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba   R0G 1M0
