Emily Grace Sanders passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 with her family by her side.

She will be forever loved and missed by her parents Jerome and Bev Sanders, by her brother and sisters Natalia, Madeline, Thomas, Olivia, Adele, Sophia and by her grandparents, Odiel Sanders and Walter and Sylvia Shwaluk.  Also left to mourn are her aunts and uncles, John (Rita) Sanders, Jacqueline (Chad) Vandaele, Karen (David) Shaw, Clarence (Janet) Shwaluk and Kevin (Lisa) Shwaluk and her cousins, Simon, Luke, Hannah, Annie, Chad (Emma), Kim (Caleb), Nicole, Brock, Rowan and Blake as well as numerous great aunts and uncles, relatives and friends. We take comfort in knowing that her Grandma Margaret will be welcoming her into heaven.

Emily was born at Boundary Trails Hospital in Winkler.  She is the eldest of her six siblings.  Emily attended Miami School from kindergarten till grade 8.  She continued her high school years by homeschooling.  Sewing, crochet, reading, cooking and gardening were enjoyable hobbies for Emily.  She was passionate about playing violin and piano.  She was delighted to be able to assist in her church in this way.

Prayers will be held at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Manitou, MB on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Swan Lake, MB on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m.  Interment at the Manitou Cemetery followed by lunch and a time of fellowship at the St. Leon Community Hall.

Memorial donations can be made by cheque to Missionaries of Charity, 167 Aikins Street, Winnipeg Manitoba R2W 0A1.  The Missionaries of Charity are religious communities that were founded by Mother Theresa of Calcutta, now Saint Theresa of Calcutta.  The sisters of these communities follow in Saint Theresa’s ‘Simple Path’ in serving the ‘poorest of the poor’.
