It is with great sadness the family announce the peacefully passing of Esther Rey at the St. Boniface Hospital. With her family by her side, she passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the age of 96 years.

Mom was the last living child of Olivier and Evalina Pilloud. She was predeceased by her husband André in 1991, and by four brothers, Charles (Rose), Henri (Emma), Laurent and Frederick.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Janine Delaquis (Ron) of Winnipeg; three grandchildren, Tina Bubenzer (Markus), Pamela Williams (Kent) and Philip Delaquis (Danielle); and four great-grandchildren, Teegan, Ethan, Heidi and Sylas. She also leaves to mourn two sisters-in-law Beatrice Rey and Yvonne Pilloud and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Friday, December 18, 2015. Rosary, eulogy and video tribute at 1:30 followed by Funeral Mass at 2 pm. Interment will take place after Mass at the St. Claude Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Doctors, staff and especially the nurses on 4E at the St. Boniface Hospital for the excellent care Mom received during her stay. Also thanks to the many friends at L’Accueil Colombien for their support and prayers to Dr. Nadine Fontigny for her many years of care.
