Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son Garnet Reid of Swan Lake, Manitoba on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the age of 20 years.

He will be mourned by his parents Sean and Sally (née Swain) Reid; his brother Trevor Reid; his grandparents John and Theresa Swain; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Garnet is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Ronald and Muriel Reid and Uncle William Reid.

Garney was born in Winnipeg but moved to Chilliwack BC when he was 9 years old.  He came here in early 2014. With lots of help from the great staff at Prairie Mountain High he graduated in 2016. Garney was a fun loving son who had an intense interest in science and chemistry. If he wasn’t on his skate board or his scooter he was combining elements to make amazing science tricks. He had a natural talent playing guitar and a very eclectic taste in music that ranged from Scrillex to Conway Twitty.  Garney was sensitive and had a great sense of humor. His shy handsome smile will be missed by all, especially his close family.

A private family burial will be held. A Come and Go Celebration of Garnet’s life will be held at the Swan Lake Arena on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 4 p.m.

Flowers will be gratefully accepted. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are starting a collection to help cover the costs of the funeral.  Any excess of funds received will be donated to the Lorne Memorial Health Foundation (Wellness Centre).  Click on the link below for the Go Fund Me Page.
