On Friday, January 24, 2014, Mr. George McKinney of Swan Lake First Nation, passed away at the age of 86 years.
George leaves to mourn his loving wife Maggie; five children, Lloyd (Linda), Dewayne (Tammy), Larry McKinney, Marlene (Ron) and Denna McKinney; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn two sisters, Rosie Scott and Betty Daniels; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ida McKinney; two brothers, Joe and Dave McKinney; and by three sisters, Emma McKinney, Louisa Soldier and Elise Houle.
A Traditional Wake will be held at Swan Lake First Nation Hall on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. with Funeral Services on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
