Gerald Albert Joseph Durand
(Moose)
March 4th, 1953 - December 20th, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerry on December 20th, 2023, at the age of 70 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Debbie (nee Beach), son Kevin, son Chris and wife Sarah (McVeigh), grandchildren Dawson, Leo, and Beau. He is also survived by his mother Valerie Durand and his sister Elaine Durand, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Gerald was predeceased by his father Albert Durand and his sister Marilyne Jacques (née Durand).
Gerry found beauty in simplicity. He enjoyed watching all sports in his favorite chair. He loved to play cards and sit around a fire. He worked in the financial field for over 46 years and worked across Canada. He took great pride in his family and was married for 44 years. He faithfully watched his boys and grandsons play all their sports.
At every turn he made close friends for a lifetime. He was always the first to remember a birthday, or a special occasion. Always a life of the party and sometimes a prankster, the stories of Moose will provide laughs for many years to come.
A special thank you to the RUH and St. Paul's Palliative teams in Saskatoon.
A Graveside Service celebrating Gerry's life will take place June 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the St. Claude Cemetery, Manitoba. Please bring a lawn chair. There will be a Reception to follow at Scotswood Links in Elm Creek, Manitoba.
